The Senate today, on the sixth anniversary of the assault in Nasiriyah, unanimously signed into law the bill recognizing November 12 as a “Day of Remembrance for the fallen in international peace missions (Decree Law 1840). As underscored by Senate President Renato Schifani, “with this vote our country makes it clear to the entire world that it does not intend to forget its fallen. Today, the Republic, exercising its full institutional authority, demonstrates its mindfulness and desire to give due honor to its fallen in the course of missions of peace.”
