President Mattarella at the United Nations: meetings with Ban Ki-Moon and Lykketoft

The President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, started the New York part of his US visit with a stop at the United Nations. Here, the Head of State met with the President of the General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, and with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon.

President Mattarella visits the Permanent Mission to meet with personnel and with Italian officials working at the United Nations.

In the afternoon, he will visit Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial, and later greet the Italian community at the Guggenheim museum.

On February 11, President Mattarella will deliver an address at Columbia University, and then visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.

On February 12, the Head of State will be in Houston, the last stop of his visit to the United States, where he will visit the Johnson Space Center and meet with Italian astronauts.
