Ambassador Armando Varricchio visit to the State of Alabama (5 February 2018)

The Ambassador of Italy to the USA, Armando Varricchio, visited today the State of Alabama where he met Governor Kay Ivey. During the meeting that took place in the capitol Montgomery, the Governor and the Ambassador discussed strengthening the relationship with Alabama, from a political, cultural and economic point of view, including through cooperation in the manufacturing field.

Ambassador Varricchio also went to Tuskegee where he visited the site selected by Leonardo for the assembly line of the trainer jet T-100 should the company win the program. The investment is linked to the participation of Leonardo's affiliate DRS to the tender for the supply of the new trainer jet commissioned by USAF. If Leonardo DRS were to be awarded, it would enable the creation of 750 new jobs in the Tuskegee area.
